Old headphones not working with iPhone 11

Traded up my 6 to an 11 last week

One thing didn’t realise was the headphone jack was different. Easy fix - got an adapter from amazon. Unfortunately the past 2 mornings on the train - interference starts coming through which then ends with the headphones cutting out & the main speaker kicking in. Total nightmare & v embarrassing this morning with dio blasting out. Takes a few seconds to register so everyone staring at me as I’m fumbling to kill the sound.

Any recommendations for new headphones ? I like the old style wired (probably my age) & rubber buds so they can get pushed in & stay. Not interested in over ear - look like a 70s roller skater. Mainly for use when commuting so 1/2 hour / back in pocket so not looking at braking the bank but on other hand would rather pay for a good set that got good sound & will last

Before buying new headphones, I'd try a lightning adapter direct from Apple (sucks that they no longer put them in the box). If I had to guess, I'd say the 3rd party adapter is the issue, not the headphones.

Other option that I use is the Earstudio ES100. You plug your current headphones into it, and it Bluetooth connects to your phone. It has controls for volume, track skipping, play/pause. There's also an app you install that you can use if you want more control over the sound. Then you can leave your phone in your pocket or bag, and clip this little thing to your pocket. It's also impervious to Apple constantly switching the jack, or if you want to switch to Android.

I have these and they work fine and don’t fall off:

I know you said that you preferred wired buds, however I have been using the Apple Air Pods since they came out and they are pretty impressive. I use them at least twice a day while I'm walking the dog (about 45 minutes at a time) You charge the case once a week or so and the buds charge in the case whenever they are in it, so they are always fully charged and ready to go. They are also compatible with anything else that you have linked to your icloud account. This is cool as they pair automatically if you have a mac or an ipad etc.

Just some food for thought.

I have these and they are great. I went to them after I went to the iPhone XR and haven’t looked back.

I know your old school but these are great. I do not regret having to fumble with the wires every single time I go to use them!

Yes for the Bose ones and it looks like yes for the OP, as I see a controller on the line...but it’s just a guess on that one : )

You wont have a problem with the Apple OEM Lightning Adapter except potential loss/misplacement if you ever unplug it from the headphones.

When you upgrade to BT, you’ll love the loss of tangled cord.

I don't have any solutions for your technical issue, but it looks like you've got it sorted now.

The real reason for my post is to thank you for keeping the Dio torch burning.
