Any love for Girard Perregaux?

I have seen the 1966 collection in person and I was rather impressed. Does anybody here have one? If so, what are your thoughts?

There doesn't seem to be that many fans on this forum but I have always loved their SeaHawk line and some of the new stuff they have done is quite impressive !

Love the brand, but the 1966's are too rich for my blood.

Their product range looks too much of a "me too" brand and overall lacks identity. But have to say their constant escapement is quite eye-catching and innovative.

I love the design on their newer Seahawk line but feel it's overpriced for what you get.

1966

I have seen and tried some of them and find them very appealing and with a good value, considering the brand name, finish and providing in-house movement. I heard though that their service seems horrible, at least in Europe.
Which one you like?

GP is nice and you can find vintage pieces at reasonable prices

I like the 1945 line very much and think it is extremely classic..I actually think it is just too classy to be a mass appeal brand..it is niche by its awesomeness ;) the 1966 chronograph(no date) in blue and the 1945 in blue are just to die for...the good and bad thing for them at the same time is that they are bad at re-sale..which means it is a tough call to buy one new while it is awesome to buy one used...so I think that is its bad and good thing at the same time.

I just purchased a new rose gold Classique Elegance 1966. It is a beautiful watch. It is well designed and superbly finished. I really love the classic looks of the 1966 series.

I just purchased the new Vintage 1945 XXL blue dial with small seconds. I have always liked the Vintage 1945 but I agree that G-P is a niche brand. I read somewhere that they sold only 13k watches in 2013. Re-sale of the brand is very tough.

Congrats on your watch! As for the resale... Yeah... I am hoping to get a used specimen. The new chrono is pure awesomeness.

Lot of love for the seahawk 2 I also like the world time. Depreciation is the killer for me oh and service costs are high and they take ages to get your watch back from them

I have a ww.tc that I like very much, even though it doesn't get much wrist time.

I'm really looking to get one, do they have any forum like this? I just acquired a Pam and rolex looking for my next grail.

Thanks,

I have the 38mm rose gold classic and find it a great business/dress watch. Had service the first year when running fast and got it back in 6-8 weeks. No problems since then.

Having just acquired a Sea Hawk I must admit to being properly impressed. The watch looks much better in the metal (titanium in my case) and it really is very comfortable to wear for a large watch and the lume...

I think GP is a very under-appreciated brand (though their pricing seems a bit ambitious). I used to have a Richeville chrono- I regret selling it from time to time. The 1966 line is awesome.

Had a Sea Hawk for about 3 months. Honestly just not the most refined piece out there. The crow was in an awkward spot with sharp edges and not the most sturdy crown at that. GP had other pieces though which I am keen on although I don't know if they would get my dollars.

Just my two cents

1966 gp

I have the 3 hand, blue face, rose gold 1966 and it is the perfect dress watch. The dial is stunning. The movement is beautiful. Hacking second hand and simple date function are a plus. It is expensive, but my experience has been AD's will discount these. I highly recommend this particular GP; I traded in a JLC ultra-thin and couldn't be happier.

I liked my Chrono, the lack of love on TRF probably helped me to sell it, not to mention I never did get the Ferrari to match the watch....... I must say the best lume of any watch I have owned and it ran perfectly. Not to mention the date window, Rolex find to hard to have on my Daytona.
