Buying Seiko in New York

I'll be in the city for a few days over the weekend and would like to pick up an SRPC91. I bought my first Turtle back in May at Las Americas Jewellers on Canal St. There's almost 60 Seiko AD's in Manhattan alone, if there's anyone local who could suggest one it would be appreciated. Looking for the best haggle-free price.

Last week they were $314 at Macys, hoping for a bit less.

Yep, Macy's will be your best bet. I'll be picking up the same model there soon.

Interesting. I thought one of the plethora of mom and pop Seiko jewelry store AD’s would be the most aggressively priced. I’m staying in Soho and there’s a bunch of dealers in Chinatown and below. Does anyone who’s bought one in the US know if we get the bigger labelled box as shown on the recent UK poster’s incoming?

Be careful. On Canal Street, they sell fake watches. Jim Cramer calls it the Breitling outlet store. Should be safe if they are an AD. I agree with Macy’s idea. They are sending emails daily to me.

For the record there are at least four Seiko AD's on Canal St near Bowery. These are small mom and pop jewelry stores, the counterfeit guys are hanging out on the corners. I'm here now, will post up what I find.

You are correct about ADs vs. Canal Street counterfeiters. Comparison price vs. Macy’s. But on a $300 watch, I am less concerned with discounts than I am with a $6K to $12K Rolex.

I'm sitting at LGA waiting to go home...Seiko-less. But I did stick with Las Americas Jewelers on Canal St at Mulberry for my second Turtle purchase. Vinny there didn't have one in stock but said he could get one from the distributer this week and will ship it to me next week when I'm back at work. Price including shipping was comparable to the best prices I've seen online. I like supporting small businesses.

Just following up as I finally got my new watch yesterday. I usually have good shipping experiences but UPS was very slow on this, I'll chock it up to being the holiday rush.
I love the blue dial on this, it will become my official bike riding watch. I trimmed an inch off of the rubber strap already, will get some use tomorrow. Thanks again to Vinny for getting me this piece with great price and service.
