Seamaster Restoration

Some of you may remember a post from a few months back a friend of mine gave me his old beat up non working SMP 300 wave dial well I finally got it back today from omega I'm very pleased with the result

Before pics:

After pics:

It was expensive but since the watch was free it was a win win.

Very nice!! Just out of curiosity, how much was the bezel assembly? I recently bought a 2531.80 with a nicely ghosted bezel, but wondering how much a replacement would be if I ever wanted another one without the ghosting.

Ok so after waiting almost 3 months the watch ran for 4 hours and stopped so much for quality control down there at swatch

Bummer. They'll take care of it. I had a malfunctioning crown after having my Aqua Terra serviced, and they turned the correction around in an instant.

The watch looks fantastic! A classic like that one deserved to be refurbished. I'm glad you decided to do it.

Let us know how the re-do of the service turns out.

They did a nice job and in some ways it looks as good as new, but it's unfortunate it stopped working so quickly! Still, Omega will make good on it and fix it. I hope it didn't cost you and arm and a leg! I purchased one new for $1,100 and it was my first nice watch. I sold it about five years later in excellent condition for a small profit but I still miss the watch.

Looks great!

Let me tell you, I have serviced a few of those in the past and I must say that refinishing that bracelet is a pita, but very rewarding in the end.

Wear it in good health
