Cheapo that should be interesting.

I was intrigued when Timex re-introduced the Marlin last year. But passed due to the size, even though I loved the manual wind idea.

Fast forward to about a month ago and they release a new version of the Marlin.

40mm. Auto. And a Snoopy dial option.

Jumped on to buy one and it sold out quickly and I missed it. Set the email reminder if it ever came back in stock.
Got the email yesterday and jumped on it.

$250 feee shipping.

We shall see when it arrives. For now, here is a screenshot of the dial.

40mm and no date! Timex is doing it right.

Update, 15 min later:

Thanks bdex75, now I am going to have a new incoming. I have a feeling that this is a nice winter watch, though I am in socal so it would be 90F degrees during Thanks Giving and Christmas. :)

I have one sans Snoopy. Nice watch for the price. The crown action on mine feels gritty.

Dial is glorious in the flesh. Typical rotor noise of a $250 auto but for the money it is hard to beat.

Congrats, they look great.

I don't see where I can sign up for an email notification on restock...maybe they removed it.

I don’t see it now either. Maybe the demand has outpaced their anticipated production?? I’m not sure if it was a limited run or not.

Thank you. It is a cool little guy. May have the watchmaker take a look at the movement noise. Timex has acknowledged the issue but says they don’t have a fix yet. May not be one

What watch do you usually wear? If I have one I can do a side by side so you can see. It wears smaller than 40mm IMHO but is a tad thick.

Good job!

Great timepieces are not about brand prestige or purchase price.

This is a super clean, timeless design, in a modern large case size.

Spend $100 on an independent service and it’ll be running and winding like a $3k watch.

No doubt. It is going in to the watchmaker in 2 weeks to get a tune up. I reckon a solid caseback would help tremendously but need to source one.

On a side note the strap was a pleasant surprise to me. Generally the place watches in this price range fall down is with a cheap leather strap that is junk.

It doesn’t resemble an ETA...and it’s unadjusted so maybe a Miyota per Hodinkee
