I have seen some crazy things in watch world: but this is another level......
The cheapest Rolex OP 41mm "Tiffany" blue dial for sale here in the UK on Chrono24 is now £33,000 - most are priced at over £50,000....
Seriously, this is another level bonkers........surely no one is buying these at this price and this is just dealers trying it on before Xmas in view of the Nautilus auction?!

It's a free market. Any clown can ask any price. As for the rest, post #4 sums it up pretty nicely

Like GameStop and Bitcoin there are no shortage of speculators and investors willing to drive up the price and no shortage of as Mark Twain put it, to make a boy want a thing one only need make it hard to attain. Twain nailed the basic hack in an aspect of human psychology long ago and speculators and even AD are cashing in and laughing all the way to the bank. Meanwhile the so called grails that folks have chased, will likely be flipped for another in a year or two-as the feeling wears off fast.

This stuff is helping a lot of other watch companies to sell theirs. If you talk to SAs at any jewelry store they can tell you about the brisk sales of all the other brands of Swiss watches these days. My wife was considering a new Breitling, Grand Seiko and Tudor recently.

Daily silly Chrono24 thread containing some of the obligatory observations: Crazy, bonkers, insane, wacky, wow, stupid, etc. Anyone can create a phony listing and make up a “crazy” asking price. Meaningless. |
