Thoughts on this Tudor 76100 Blue
Hi,
I had the chance to check this beautiful Tudor Submariner 76100 Blue lolipop few days back.I have a couple of doubts. First doubt it's about series number. This one has 5 digits as follows, 65XXX, seems correct, ain't? Attending to this number, wich year is it???? The other question concerns about hands, as you see all tritium is off. My question it's, shall i look for a hands set on marquet???? Or even a good tritium restore can be enouhg??? Many thanks in advance |

Looks like someone may have tried to epoxy that lume fragment back into place at least once. The case looks fat, if it's legit. There are far better experts than me (ha, ha, I'm no expert) who will comment, no doubt. I would be very interested in this watch if the price were right, I feel that it has "good bones".

Mine looked just like yours when I bought it. My jeweler replaced the lume in the hour hand for me mixing it with some coffee to get the right color.
99% of these will not have original lume and to my knowledge, NOS I'd not available. The hand are usually traded out for "mercedes" hands. The lollipop does not have support for the lume and as it ages, the lume shrinks and falls out. Your watch looks good to me! |

Thanks for your reply. So i might consider a good restoration, attending moreless to tritium dots of dial. What about to year of production, any help considering it's 65xxx??? Thanks in advance. |

Yep - it is good.
Good looking, running (after service), and wearing Sub. Not as valuable as a Snowflake so be sure to not spend Snowflake prices. Just enjoy it.

That would look amazing on a blue curved rubber. I'd love it!

Still curious how the tritium just flakes off..
Is it just age, or humidity? We have all seen much more older and beaten up watches whose tritium is very well in tact. |

It may have been a different formulation, but for the hour hand, there is such a vast surface area without support as it shrinks, it had nothing to hold onto.

In that aspect the mercedes hour hand is more useful I guess. Is it relatively easy for a watch maker to re lume with matching color generally should this happen? |

Price seems a bit high for a 76100 blue though I've been out of the market for a while. It's a good watch, strong case, dial and insert. You have a few options but that hour hand looks damaged on the top side. Hopefully it's paint that can be removed and doesn't damage the finish. Another viable option on this one is period correct Mercedes hands which were also found on the 76100 as service hands since this has a 9411 case back.

The value is in the lollipop hands imo. You can find this watch with the replacement mercedes for a decent price. Original condition would obviously command a premium.
The rest of the watch is in great condition with a lovely insert. I would try to factor in a relume into your negotiation. If you can live with a relume, it's a win-win for you. |

Beautiful! IMHO there are two types of lollipop hands those that have crumbled and those that will crumble. This case is super fat the dial is great and insert is really nice. The hands can be fixed.
