Icon20 Rolex 5513 maxi dial mk 4

Hey lads, my first post here it goes.

I have a few questions about my "new" 5513 which I got a few days ago, I believe is from ~81.

First of all the watch is lovely, fits perfect on the hand love everything about it. Now to the questions.

If you look at the hour hands it looks like the lume is tearing apart or something like that not sure, Is there anything you could do about this or just leave it as it is? will it get worse in the future?, the other question is if anyone has replaced the plexi with a service plexi from ROLEX,

The hands can be stabilized by various watchmakers but frankly don't look too bad. Yes, the crystal looks to have been replaced with a service t19.

Very nice 5513, welcome to the forum.

Thanks!, There are some dust particles under the Plexiglas no clue how they got there, went to a Rolex AD they said its gonna take them 4 weeks to fix that... does it really take that long?, Then called another Rolex AD(4-5hours drive) they said 1week..

The dust could be from any number of things. From some tritium dust to a sloppy service sometime in the past.

Many watchmakers are very busy with long turn around times. A crystal replacement isn't a tough job, the wait most likely reflects their workload.
