Nice Watch Talk This Evening
Spent a couple of very entertaining hours at the Grahame Fowler shop here in the West Village of NYC. Grahame hosted a small reception for enthusiasts to talk shop, trade stories, and enjoy some Scotch...and, of course, to drool over some of his collection of 13 Military Subs.
Incidentally, this was the first time I've ever hung out with fellow vintage collectors. Not that I'm opposed to gatherings like these, or anything, it's just that I don't have any friends who are into vintage Rolexes, so I've been limited to online communication. But, it helped me appreciate the community of collectors that much more. Additionally, Grahame is a charming story-teller and host. And if you need some sharp threads this season, he sells great clothes! Here're just a couple if shots from the night. One of Grahame's MilSubs with non-Sword hands, and one of the man himself. |

Very nice.
I regret that I left the village just before I really started getting into watches so never had the opportunity to make it over there. Will have to add it to my list to visit on my next trip back. |

The "T" on the dial takes it to a whole new level.

John, it was a lot of fun (and not JUST because of the Scotch!). Saw a lot of non-Rolex pieces I'd never even heard of. But, more than anything, it was just great getting to talk shop for the first time w like-minded watch guys.
