Has this 16753 case been completely refinished?
Hello new member here,
I'm a collector relatively new to the vintage Rolex world, so before I begin, thank you to all of the people that make this forum happen. I very recently purchased a Rolex ref. 16753 '79 (61xxxxx serial) from a dealer with the assurance that the lugs haven't been re-"cut" that is to say that the chamfers are factory original. We both agreed that the watch has 100% correct parts and has seen some polishing or refinishing in the past - some obvious signs being the uneven crown guards and some halo-ing around the lug holes - but to my eyes the lugs looked even and the chamfers looked uniform (with some of it washed out with polishing). However, it was brought to my attention by a fellow collector that the lugs appear to have been completely refinished - although extremely well - with new chamfers. His main point being that the lug holes are way too close to the champfered edge. What do you guys think? To what extent has this case been refinished? Simply polished down or completely refinished? Cheers, Jordan |

I'd be far more worried about the bezel.
