EARLY (1952) Datejust 6104 Incoming!

Hi All - just bought this and quite excited to receive it!

Fairly unusual piece I believe?

Here are some photos:

More Pics & Info

Thanks for the kind comments guys!

Please see further pics below - these very early Datejusts in fact had an All Red Date Wheel which is so cool - plus the "dreaded" Rolex + Super Oyster non screw down crown ... (not exactly very waterproof and only lasted about 3 years before being replaced by the screw down crown ...)

This one is from 1952, and this is I believe the first year that the word "Datejust" (I may be incorrect - experts?) appeared on the dial - when the concept of a date which changed at midnight was introduced in 1945 - only the words Rolex and Oyster Perpetual appeared - Rolex apparently toyed with words like "RiteDate", "Victory" and "Jubilee" (decided to name a bracelet that name instead - fascinating stuff ...) before deciding on Datejust ...

I really enjoy wearing a piece of Rolex History ... and the best part? Accuracy of about +1 SECOND every 24 hours - not too shabby for a 64 year old timepiece!
