Calling all Jubilee Experts!? (please)
Hi guys,
Mostly a lustful lurker all this time but I seemed to have stepped into my first Rolex conundrum. I just purchased this bracelet as a genuine Rolex vintage jubilee (ebay). However, I've never seen a Rolex bracelet that uses pins instead of screws??? I've been told this is correct. Are there any experts that can confirm/deny based on these pics? Would appreciate any and all comments! Thanks, Bob |

For this reason exactly...friend? Looking for help buying something I'm not an expert in. Guess my first vintage Ebay purchase is a bust. I'm still gonna wait until someone with more of a track history chimes in though, mr. march 18...

I've now seen several examples doing a Google image search - looks like it may be legit! Still looking for experts...

Looks like a USA made JB champion jubilee. Since it’s probably 40+ years old, I would post this in the vintage forum.

Search Google for "Rolex JB bracelet" and "Rolex C&I bracelet" and you'll find similar bracelets made in the US and Mexico. The short story is that at one point in time (and I forget for how long) Rolex was only allowed to import watch heads rather than complete watches. To complete the watches they had to manufacture bracelets in North America. You have one of those bracelets.
It's more than likely a genuine bracelet. It sure looks it. I've personally not seen knockoff JB/C&I bracelets, although they might exist. Now, whether or not this bracelet is correct for the watch that you're installing it on is another question entirely. It was intended for older 4-digit references. |

Bob,
This is the right place to find the answers to almost every question regarding the Rolex brand. I am no expert but that looks ok to me. You will find a lot of information in the Vintage section. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

This forum is where you go to ask questions.. I'd take it over to the watch out section or vintage though.

I must admit to never seeing a Rolex bracelet with pins. That would make me wonder for certain. Interested to hear how this turns out.
Was that really necessary? Older style clasps frequently show wear and look different. |

I used to own a 4 digit Rolex and it did have pins/spring bars on the clasp. The bracelet looked different, though. My watch was from the early 80s. Someone else suggested yours may be from the 70s.

The removable links of this RUSA jubilee are hold in place by this type of spring bars that are quite nasty to deal with. |

What is everyone talking about in regards to pins? There are plenty of Rolex bracelets which use pins to secure the bracelet to the clasp. It is old. The appearance of the Rolex logo on the clasp is probably due to polishing. Not quite a cynical as others about this bracelet. |

You guys are the best! I really appreciate (most) of the responses, I thought that maybe I was scammed when folks started saying "pins? Rolex ALWAYS used screws". I remember hearing the story about importing watch heads only. This now makes sense and maybe I got a great deal after all. This was sold as 70's vintage - for under $400!!!
Thanks again everyone!!! Bob p.s. This is on my 16013. Probably not accurate...but looks good and is what I can currently afford. |

This is a genuine Rolex USA Jubilee from the seventies.
The clasp looks different, I'm no expert so won't comment. Just thought the pix might help, in a small way. |

Unnecessarily rude and, unhelpful. Our friend did request an 'expert' opinion, judging by your reply, not sure you qualify. A nice apology would be the correct response. DahMan, oh, really? |

Among the Jubilee bracelets, I agree the oval-links are super-comfortable, albeit somewhat flimsier-feeling than the oyster bracelets of the same era.
