And that's true!

The modern 41mm Sub could be the ultimate sports watch:
- Iconic. It is the standard against which all other divers are compared.
- Still ~40mm. Not too big, not too small.
- Rugged
- Waterproof to depths it will never see
- Excellent bracelet
- Fits in with virtually every setting (casual, somewhat dressed up)
- The new case/lug/bracelet combo is proportional (IMO)

I just don't need one. I have the SD43... so why downgrade? (ha ha *wink wink* )

You nailed it, and Rolex really nailed it with the 41mm Sub. It's so beautiful and well proportioned. Although I personally prefer the BLNR for that extra splash of color and the GMT function.

IMO it's anathema to a collection, which is perfect for OP in this instance. A 16610 was my only watch for years and it was the perfect watch to prevent me from building out a collection (although I eventually lost that war haha). Now I have a fairly large collection and my 126610 actually doesn't get much wrist time. I generally reach for the GMTs and if I want something more subtle I reach for a non-Rolex.
