Sorry, I'm a little confused....I have been researching what Rolex to get (between DSSD, Sea Dweller and GMT II TT). The majority of the photos in this thread show a Sea Dweller with only minute indices from 0 - 10 minutes. I was at an AD today and the SD they had shows indices at all 60 minutes. I also picked up a Rolex 'catalogue' there which shows the same thing. Did Rolex change the bezel on this piece?

Sorry, should have said the photos show indices from 0 - 15 minutes.

Hi Jordan

Nice looking SD!
Anyway, with rubber strap..does it wear more comfortably compare to the original bracelet?

Ive been through a few different Rolex sport watches. Subc date, 14060, 16610, 216570, along with a few Omegas. I recently had a chance to pick up a Z series SD from DavidSW. Sold new in late 2007. Service by Rolex in 2015. All I can think to myself is why did I wait so long to try the 16600. The watch I received from David is in like new condition. Bracelet and clasp are tight as can be. I find this to be the perfect Sport Rolex. So much so that I flipped my Subc, for something different. I couldn't justify keeping the Subc, because it looks so similar to the SD, and I honestly preferred the feel of the SD. I wear this SD everyday, and just love it. Doesn't feel top heavy at all, as I wear it snug. I also find that without the Cyclops (never liked the Cyclops), this watch fly's under the radar more so than a sub date.

When I purchased my first pre-owned 16610, I really actually wanted a SD, but couldn't afford it.

All I can say is that I believe this is the perfect model for me. I live in Hawaii, and am very active. Outdoor activities like surfing, hiking, working out, etc. This watch fits the bill perfectly.

My Subc has been flipped and now have a BLNR incoming! Something to rotate on occasions. Although I feel almost reluctant to wear any other sport rolex, as I love my 16600 so much! Sorry for the long rant, but I am in bliss with this Sea Dweller.

I'm 4 days in to 16600 ownership and I am absolutely over the moon. I traded in my 16610 for it and cannot believe how much better the SD feels. It's stonkingly good! I feel honored to be a part of the club!

I already do! I can't believe I even questioned the change being worthwhile! It is indeed a very special watch, I love it!

Awesome... What is the book and where can you get one from? I take it this is just one spread about the SD in a general Rolex book, rather than it all being about the SD? Either way, would love something like this if they're easy to get hold of?

Arty

P.s thanks for the welcome!

It's Mondani's Submariner book (which, obviously, includes the Sea Dwellers too). His daughter, Giorgia is a forum member. PM her about possible discounts for forum members, Xmas, etc. It's an awesome book. Yes, it's not cheap, but worth it, imho.
