Deepest this baby's ever been, but that will change later this month when I take her Diving in the Gulf!

A few days ago, shortly after the un-boxing - Thanks Kanger!!!

I have always loved the clean look of the No Date Sub. The SD gives me the best of both worlds. A Sub like watch with no Cyclops, but with a date. Plus it is a very substantial watch with an unbelievable history behind it!

First picture (not very good) of my 2005 Sea Dweller, bought just the day before yesterday! Hoping to take better pictures of it in the fish tank before too long!

F&F is excellent but it's a very subdued look, especially after yesterday's colorful NATO... I went with the buckle because I don't want to remove the clasp from my OEM bracelet and I don't have any aftermarket clasps (like Everest, ...) I have the feeling a clasp is more Rolex... opinions?

Hi Travelller

Looking good in my bias opinion, and the Tang Buckle is a nice option.

Looks like your model has lug holes. Mine does not, does the Everest Band allow for accessing the Spring Bars?

Yes the "Rubber B" (not Everest) strap does - it has "slots" on the underside, just like post-2003 SD bracelets.

They are harder to find now than before. expect prices to soar as they become more scarce. So better get one quick.

Thinking about replacing the stock Bracelet on my 2004 SD with a new style Glide-Lock Bracelet from a newer Sub, or GMT. Has anyone seen this done, or done this themselves? If so, Pics Please? Thoughts?

I wouldn't do it. Not worth the expense to me.

Having a 16600 means you like classic watches or want to have at least one classic/vintage look and feel. That would deplete the purpose of owning a 16600 if you replace it with a SubC bracelet :(

I recall someone doing this, don't know if it was on an SD or a Sub...thing is, the 16600 is about 1mm taller than the 16610, and so it had its own taller end pieces to match up to case. Not sure if the new 116610 bracelet would line up so well...

Plus the cost of the thing is nuts, like $2K or so. And it will definitely add weight w/the SSLs and clasp, although this might help to balance it a bit if it's flopping around on you. Just don't sell the original if you get it!

I have been sourcing for a SubC bracelet myself to fit it onto my SD. A year ago or so, my CW21 friend who works at an AD removed the new style bracelet and installed it on my SD; needless to say, it was a perfect fit and I loved it. I asked if he can order one but was told it is impossible unless I have a SubC to send it.

After seeing a thread about it here, I have contacted a member named "nch209" and inquired. I was told used ones are around low to mid teens and new are closer to $2k and that a member named "puffy" might still be able to source one.

I haven't put much thoughts about it since then as the price is too much and availability is somewhat scarce. I decided on keep my SD 100% original and am just as happy to wear it daily since ownership 3 years ago.

Thanks for the response, I spoke with the AD near me (we tinted the windows on his Tesla today) he told me he could order the Glidelock for the new GMT - PCL, and no divers extension for $1800.00, it should fit the SD fine. Just think the money would be better spent on a new watch, besides my bracelet is in god shape.

I just always want to customize my watches for some reason, its seriously a problem of mine. For instance, I am wanting to install a Blue Insert on my SD to make it resemble the "Shark" Sub I have seen here on TRF. I just dont want an aftermarket insert on my watch, and I believe that would be my only option.

Has anyone ever seen the SD with a blue insert installed?
