Thinking of getting a CK. What's the cost of the bracelet and end links?

Clean your lugs and then use blue painter's tape everywhere that might get scratched. Even if you're good at changing bracelets, the tape will minimize the scratches created by the expanding spring bar as you remove the bracelet (those are hard to otherwise avoid).

I had my AD call Omega and they said the same thing! Apparently the ones that come with the watch fit both 19mm and 20mm openings. I ordered the shorter 19mm spring bars and as soon as they arrive I'll try again. Luckily, it looks pretty darn sharp with the strap! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks for the cost info guys. Really thinking about this one. I'm on the wait list for the ceramic Daytona - who knows when I'll get the call. So I'm thinking I should get this instead.
The CK2998 a good substitute for the Daytona or wait for the Daytona? |

I have the blue Gemini LE and a Daytona. I'd say they're pretty similar, but the Daytona is way smaller. I'm glad to have both.

Went to the local boutique last night for a Speedmaster event. They had museum examples of vintage Speedies like the original CK2998, the Ed White, the original moon watch, the original Mark II, etc. Very cool stuff.
One thing that I thought was kinda interesting was the fit of the bracelets on those old watches. Not nearly as nicely fit as today's watches and bracelets. Even the 1125/560 on the FOIS fits perfectly compared to the fit of the bracelet on the first Speedies. |

This is why I love this forum!
New shorter spring bars arrived per our discussion and the swap was a breeze. Thanks for all the ideas, help and advice guys! This CK2998 just went from great to spectacular! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
