Can anyone shed any light on a Vintage Gold Rolex Orchid that's 50 years old.

Hello fellow watch fans.

This vintage Rolex Orchid has been in our family since the 70's. My mum would like to do something with it now. I believe the clasp isn't working and the movement (haven't opened the case back) has stopped.

I'm getting in touch with a few vintage Rolex dealers around London to see if they would be interested in it. So I thought it would be cool to show you guys and hopefully someone has come across one previously.

Enjoy the pics. Cheers

Its a nice watch much like the many cocktail type watches back in the 1960s-1970s,unfortunately today these types of watches have gone out of fashion, and would be quite expensive to have it fixed. But if it has a lot of sentimental value have it fixed, but value mostly in price of the gold today and a just little bit extra for the Rolex name on dial.

It's a nice piece...and some people, still kike the 'old cocktail' look once in a while, especially if it's a family piece.
I had a friend of mine's grandmothers watch repaired so she could wear it once in a while...an still does. Sentimental value..and nostalgic.
Why not..

Looks good on you
I really like the watch and bracelet, if you want to sell it do it as is. You will not recover service/ restauration costs most likely.

If the clasp isn’t working, and can’t be remedied by a little flexing of the blades, then spending money on a movement service would be wasted. You aren’t going to find a new clasp for the bracelet.

When you said she wants to do something with it, do you mean sell it? If so, the service costs to refurbish it could equal its sales value.

The shops will likely offer a price you’ll feel is unfairly low - but in light of the cost of service and the low market demand, it would reflect current value.

If she can hold it for another 20 years, the cycle could see stronger demand in 2040 (think about what Daytona’s of the ‘60’s were worth before the spike).

Value aside that is the nicest ladies Rolex cocktail watch I've seen. Look at that bracelet! And the caseback markings look crisp to boot. Depending on condition of the matching necklace and tiara you'd be the belle of the ball with that thing, good for you
