Roanoke VA - Avoid Trades

Please be advised that a individual that goes by many names including James Warner, Kristorpher Lucas, Shane Tee, Stephen Curtis, Danny Turner, etc. He uses a business name of "Danny's Watch Shop". This is not to be confused with Danny's Watch Repair as that is a legitimate business in the area.

Other business names used are Watch Watch and Wayward Watches. He has a google business page and has multiple fake reviews all by other aliases of his. He has a phone number but that is a TextNow number. He regularly changes his business address. The locations appear to be drop points. He will fake business tax documentation.

Return addresses on his packages will be the address of a hotel or other business in the area. I suggest that you AVOID ALL TRADES IN THE ROANOKE VA AREA. He targets individuals with modern and vintage watches. Rolex, Omega, Cartier, Tag etc.

You will not get the watch that was agreed on. You will get a band, a Seiko, an empty box, or some junk. The only way to slow him down is to avoid trades with anyone in the Roanoke area. Unless you personally know the individual you are trading with in the area do not trade. He is aggressive in his tactics and will open multiple accounts just to try and scam members of forums and FB groups.

Just a reminder this scammer is still out there. I have a FB page called "Danny's Watch Shop"....yes I took the business name before he could use it....idiot. I post my findings and his movements there. So if you do a search on FB for Danny's Watch SHop and feel like yelling.....it is me not him.

I have had a message from someone called "Drew", a new user with 0 posts, wanting to do a trade on a watch I have for sale. He is from Roanoke. No reason to suggest he is not legitimate, but reading this post made me pause for thought...

Please be careful! This guy moves around a lot and changes his ID all the time.

I wouldn't do it unless I was face to face.

Let us know what happens.

Thanks Ben.

I did not proceed. I can't be sure this was the same person or a scammer, but he was only interested in swapping one of his pieces (that he was quick to send me photos of, even though I had not expressed any interest in any of his pieces) for the watch I have for sale, and there seemed little regard for the respective value of the pieces. So the fear would be that whilst I would post my piece, what would arrive the other end could be anything...
