Sorry guys, Brisbane to Melbourne is a little too far for dinner and drinks, would love to go, but alas, can't make this one. Cheers. Now a Brisbane GTG is another thing tho!

I'm fine with it. Ask for a corner table if possible. I just have to remember to take my Somac beforehand.

Is that restaurant expensive?

What's a somac?

If it is at Docklands on a Saturday night, will the football be a problem?

Wherever it is to be a booking is advisable a.s.a.p.

Somac is a drug for treating heartburn and excessive gastric acid
Parking wise - park under the big ferris wheel - $10 for the night.

Righto - update. To date we've got the following folks coming:

Steve
Peter and Deanne
Michael and Gill
Gerry and Carla
Brandon
Kai
Sasha and me

Has anybody heard from Chris in Melbourne?

Anyway, Steakhouse also has a $20/person reservation deposit that can be taken out of the bill later. I'm happy to put it up first, as long as everybody's certain they're going to turn up. Could everybody just pipe up with confirmation before I call?

James,

Cannot help it. Don't sweat it as I would not allow a 'friend' to be out of pocket on my account through illness.

If it turns out that you are out of pocket, I'l send you a cheque for the amount concerned. I always live up to my financial obligations..........

I know some people that would not even consider putting their hand in their pocket!

Nah, don't get me wrong, Michael - I'm just having a whinge about this deposit system that more and more restaurants seem to be having these days. I doubt they'll refuse to redistribute the deposit, and if they do I'll just tell them I'll cancel the whole booking - it'll be their choice whether they want to make a couple of hundred bucks or blow it all for a little bureaucratic BS and I'm fairly certain who'll blink first. You just take it easy and rest up.

Good thing you already have a doghouse - if Gill had to build one to stick you into, her mood would be even worse!
