Can the face of a Cellini be "touched up"?
Wondering if anyone knows of someone to touch up the paint on the Cellini I've been wearing for 30 years?
About 10 years ago, there was some water damage. |

International Dial Co., they have always done outstanding work for me. That one needs a re-finish and it will look like new; the route to go unless you can find a new one.

Yes there are many good dial restorer's but it could cost as much as a new dial from Rolex when the watch was serviced.

I bet it would be less than $50.00 with them, I've had a lot of them re-finished for less than 30 bucks. They don't jack the price up just because it says Rolex on it, it's just a dial to them and if they have the art work it's a flat fee.
If they have to create the art work, it used to be a $75.00 fee for that but in this game, that's reasonable. You won't know until you call and ask. |

Here is an example of their work as I mentioned above to help illustrate my point. It is an old Curvex that had been submerged in after shave or cologne in a shaving kit for who knows how long. I restored it and had the dial refinished by International Dial Co.

Kirk Dial Seattle or Kent Washington would do a good job on the Cellini. Rikki

I stopped by Kirk once or twice when I lived out there but every time I did they were at lunch with the door wide open like they were open for business. Everyone was oriental and sitting around eating bowls of rice and a lady came to the counter to tell me to come back in an hour.
Well, I just went through the pain in the tail feathers to make the hour plus, drive from Buckley to downtown Seattle, at the time they were in the Joshua Green building with the rest of the watch people. After putting quarters in the parking meter to max it out hoping it would last until I could be finished with all my stops, I wasn't about to come back and go through finding a place to park all over again. Hence, I never used their services but I hear they do good work as well, just never had any myself or seen any so I can't vouch other than word of mouth. |

Kirk is close to me, I'll go down there and talk to them.
Thanks for the information! |
