Pressure test after removed and replaced the backcased?

Hi All,

I have a question on the need of pressure test on Rolex after the backcase of the watch was removed and replaced at an AD or RSC say for authentication?

how to we ensure that the backcase is put back and tightened properly and their underwater dept rating will not be affected?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

I know that when testing is done in a wet test the movement is removed. I think this is done for deep sea diver for extreme testing. A some point they have to reopen it to put the movement back in.

I think the backcase is the least like part to fail. I would imagine mst failures happen by the crown.

I would t be worried about pressure testing just because the back was removed if I was recently serviced and tested. If you are checking for authenticity I doubt the watch has been serviced for a while and then i would send it in to rsc

If the case back is removed I would have it pressure tested - a twisted or rolled gasket.

Better safe than sorry.

It should have been dry leak tested completely assembled. If there's a leak ten it's wet pressure tested to localize the leak.
