I can’t say I notice much difference on an average cigar. I tend to punch robustos, coronas and toros and cut pyramides. I can’t find my V cutter. Should pick up a new one now you mention it for the thicker ring gauges. But for the most part I tend to use what’s to hand, same with lighters. Matches, butane, zippo, hob whatever lol. I smoke past the band too lol.

The Miele and the Punto Oro ranges by Savinelli are my favourite. Will send you a pic when I get home. I prefer the 320 KS and 642 sizes.
