New Batman Calibre 3285 issue?

Hello everyone, I have a question regarding my new Batman.

I've realized that when unscrewing the crown and turning it backwards it makes a clicking sound similar to the winding sound when turning it clockwise. In other words, it doesn't move freely but it is like it is also winding the watch... Is this normal? My Sub and Explorer II don't do this but of course this is a new movement with a bi-directional rotor.

Many thanks in advance.

Many new watches do this, including mine.
Not sure if it's a problem. Most say no.

My DJ41 did it, and then went on to losing time (3235 oiling issue?) and when it came back, it no longer clicked when unscrewing the crown.

Now it's back to losing time and the click is back.

All Rolex have the bi-directional rotor, but maybe they changed something in the way it works for the 3235?

Does your watch run accurately?

Hello, thank you very much for replying. As the watch is less than 2 weeks old, I guess a visit to my AD will clarify everything :)

In the winding position. Even when unscrewing the crown it starts making this ratcheting sound. When I turn the crown clockwise to wind it it makes the normal "gears moving" sound. on my other Rolex, turning the crown counterclockwise doesn't make any sound, on the GMT Master II I hear and feel this clicking sound, it is not like the shortwave clicks when winding, the clicking is more spread but at the same intervals every time.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new 126710 BLNR

It’s completely normal, my 126710 BLRO does the same.

They all click when turning backwards.. It's a ratcheting mechanism that needs stops to keep the torque from unwinding when you wind the mainspring.

If your other ones do not make any sound, those are the ones you should be concerned with.

Hello everyone,

First of all please excuse me for my late reply.

I really appreciate you took the time to respond, thank you. I've checked my Submariner and Explorer Ii and they also do the ratcheting sound but it is very faint. In the GMT is it quite more noticeable... I will check with my AD on the weekend :)
