First Panerai - 927

Always admired Panerais, but never quite found one that would tick the boxes for me until I stumbled on a 927 at an AD. Wasn't even on the radar until I saw it in the display and tried it on.

Primarily looking for a 42mm, sandwich dial and gold colored hands...and there is was. Titanium is a novelty, and not really necessary as this is a pretty thin 42mm. I would've preferred SS, but very comfortable on the wrist.

It's funny, I would've expected a strap tool change but thought they might've lost it. After some internet research realized this watch comes with quick disconnect straps and no tool necessary, pretty cool.

Very nice dial, auto with excellent 3 day PR, light on the wrist and good price point.

Great choice.

Whilst I'm not a fan of the Due line, the combo of titanium and blue dial is a knockout.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Congratulations.

Absolutely beautiful...congratulations. PAMS are like that. Never on your radar, till you see it in the flesh and try it on. I had the same feeling as you. I never planned on, nor did I have my eyes on a PAM. And I even thought that PAMS are overrated. Then I saw the 1312 and put it on to try it out. Needless to say I left the shop with it on my wrist.

Went to the boutique over the weekend and picked up a Scamosciato dark brown/beige strap (MXE090BN)...much preferred over the alligator.

Can the pins be removed like normal to use regular straps?

It utilizes a spring bar, although I'm not sure if this springbar is thinner than what normal panerai straps would use.
