frozen spring bars

this is part of an on going project that involves a 93150 bracelet (that's due some restoration ,wear and tear already noted ) prior to its dispatch I attempted to remove the spring bars that appear to be frozen I haven't used any force or anger to attempt this however these will need to be removed so replacement 580's can be used, I was of the understanding that these were not fixed and just slid in any advice would be appreciated, many thanks "H"

frozen spring bars

Correct - those end links are hollow and should be loose-fit with the springbars.

Maybe an ultrasonic bath will help. If not successful, then boil it for a while if the crud is water soluble.

The more aggressive solution will be a penetrating solvent if they are corroded in the endlinks.

But the wear showing on the visible permanent link tells me you’ll need a professional restoration to remove them and rebuild with new pins plus some extra material added too.

Many thanks Paul, I've already arranged for the repair work to be carried out by Rolliworks, I was looking to remove the end links prior to dispatch as Im going to sell these on for replacements (580) I will try soaking the Bracelet in hot water, and will put a thread together of the whole story once its been concluded, many thanks for the input "H"

end links now removed!

PaulG's input set me straight, a gentle boil and a overnight soak freed the bars up so that they moved some... with pliers I gently pulled them out although this took some time, the lower spring bar in the photo is slightly curved and has a channel worn into it, looking at the wear (indicated by the yellow arrows) the watch it came off must have had quite a bit of damage to the lugs and the case

(I've also laid the bracelet so you can get a better idea of the flex and the wear as previously noted)

all the best "H"

That curved one looks like it had a lot of wear marks on it too.
