Incoming AT
Just received this blue 8900 AT a couple days ago. I’ve got to say it’s my favorite watch in rotation already. Normally I’m already thinking about the next piece to get. But after this one I may be able to finally save money and wait a couple years before a new purchase.
It arrived just 1 week after the Grand Seiko SBGR307 pictured next to it. They are both beautiful watches and almost identical twins except for dial color. Now all I am missing is the black explorer 1 haha. The AT has been beating the GS on accuracy by about 1spd. But the GS is just their automatic 9S68. Which is a good movement but not their spring drive or hi-beat. Now I’m already feeling guilty and compelled to sell some of my watches at sizable losses just because I will be wearing this one quite a bit I sense. |

The AT 8900 is an amazing watch. A real sleeper hit. Congrats on a wonderful purchase.

Congrats on the new piece. I too got hooked on the 8900 and was forced to purchase one.
Currently gets the most wrist time out of the collection. |

Enjoy it! I traded an Aqua Terra about 7 years ago, missed it, bought another one recently.

When I talk about huge losses, I’m not talking huge money, but percentage wise I’d be lucky if I got 50% of what I paid for them back. Especially since a lot of em are $600-1000 dollar watches that will probably be harder to sell since I don’t know of any outlets to sell through. I’m new at this. I didn’t wear a watch at all as recently as less than a year ago. Now I’ve got 13 watches and would ideally want to get down to 5. The below watches are, from top left to top right and then bottom left to bottom right: -Steinhart Ocean Titanium 500 GMT (keep) -Hamilton Jazzmaster Open Heart (sell) -Breitling SuperOcean 44 (sell) -Steinhart Marine-Officer Beige (sell) -Omega AT (keep) -Steinhart Ocean one 42 black DLC MOP (sell) -Seiko SSC445 (keep, since it’s so cheap it wouldn’t be worth selling/ but open to selling) -Filippo Loretti Okeanos (keep, for same reason as above plus to have some quartz for golfing) -Tissot Tradition Quartz (sell) -Orient Bambino (keep, too cheap/but open to sell) -Omega Speedmaster hesalite (keep) -Laco Venedig (keep) -Grand Seiko SBGR307 (keep) |
