Next step?
Dear all,
I currently contemplate to expand my current collection by adding some colour (yellow or rose gold). In March the latest purchase was made with the 5205G and we traded a GO Senator Panorama Date in platinum. Will try to borrow a yg day date oysterquartz over the holidays from the old man to get a feel for it. Based on my current thoughts and staus quo, the following are identified as targets: 5196R 5167R 116518LN Have not yet a feedback on 5167R possibility and would also be over budget (~25k EUR), but I guess it will not hurt to ask. Alternative could be a 5196R from an AD and trying to get on a 5167R list by this step. I am also aware that the 5196R is a total different segment but I also feel that with the Speedy and Explorer II Im covered in the more sporty segment. Please note that I am in no rush and am happy to wait 6/12/18 months if required. Happy to hear your thoughts as well as alternative suggestions (new or preowned) |

I recommend the 5167R. Very wearable size at 40mm and love the RG case with the dark brown dial.

5167 is lovely, but very hard to get your hands on, even with the purchase of a 5196.
the latter however is a nice dress watch nonetheless, if you can live with a non-date watch, discount may be possible with it as well. |

I guess i’m surprised why the 67R is hard to get. like i thought the obsession was with steel sport models. Why are PM aquanauts hard to get at retail? because it’s an aquanaut and everyone wants one? lol kind of makes me mad as I want a 67a so bad i’m prepared to pay premium on gray for one. the PM 67R is more on gray market than steel too.

I would wait to see if a new / updated calatrava rolls around next year before buying the 5196R. It's a beautiful watch on the outside and mechanically sound but if a refreshed movement comes around (especially with a display back) I would go for that instead.
I'm on a similar boat as you, I prefer sportier watches. I've recently acquired the 5205R as well and I would say as elegant and dressy that watch may be, once I throw it onto a different strap the watch should work well as casual piece too. I know you got the 5205G recently... but perhaps you want to do a swap to a R instead. |

116518LN without a shadow of a doubt, love ceramic bezels plus it gives you peace of mind.
Daytona should be part of any collection, plus this particular one is so cool

I heard/read this too regarding the calatrava line but wondered, if that was satisfied with the 6006A. Maybe I should stay patient and see what comes along 2021. Very drawn to this as well. Will tour various ADs close to me on this and speak with the Patek AD on the 67R in Jan once the busy dust from holiday season settled... |

I think a 5167R would be a very nice addition but how is that supposed to work with a budget of ~25k EUR?
I think even if you find one at an AD the discount era is over. |
