Tried the blue OP41 last year, found it underwhelming on my wrist, didn't feel like a 5.6k euros watch where I live. I passed at retail. The Exp II is on another level. |

Explorer II, my Dad has one and it's a great looking watch and has a better complication. Like others have said, the OP is just an entry level watch IMHO.
All of that said, who cares! Get the watch that sings to you. Do not settle based on what others on some random forum say. Buying a watch is a personal choice. About to make my own personal choice. I'm not even taking a poll on TRF. it will be mine. BTW, it won't be a Rolex. Can't afford one of those at the moment and probably wouldn't meet the stringent requirements of Rolex for ownership anyways (regardless of the fact that I am handsome as F, Hahahahahaha! Kidding!), but I was gifted one like 30 plus years ago by my Father. I have 3 young adults who are my true pride and joy and are still living at home. Not really a religious person either but God I Love them! It will be my first watch purchase for myself. |

I prefer the OP, but would want a smaller size than the 41. I have never coveted the Explorer in any form. OP, Sub, and Datejust are my preferences

Between the two, I'd chose the Explorer II. IMHO it's in a completely different class than the OP. I like having the date and the GMT complications and use both frequently on my GMT II.

Explorer 2 for the GMT hand. Not a fan of the double indices at the quarters.

Explorer II,
I find the OP, in any color, to be unremarkable in every aspect. The Explorer is bold, apparently too bold for some, but that makes it a more interesting, more deliberate choice over the more pedestrian "safe" Rolex. It's a very low profile, flat 42mm. Easy to wear.
