Icon5 What does an ‘in-house’ movement mean to you?

Getting up in the morning and having a "movement" before heading off to work.

Parts availability likely not there down the road outside of major brands.

I think an in-house movement needs to be designed in-house, as well as assembled and cased in-house.

Bremont is a case-study in how not to make an in-house movement. Hell, they even said after their fiasco was exposed that they didn't even know what an in-house movement is.

Today is a good day! Limes 1/2 off!!

Sorry, wrong thread.

Anyway, asking because apparently Tudor bought an existing company with the development already done for their new ‘in house developed by’ movement. So does it matter if this was not a Tudor in-house from the start?

I haven't heard anything about the Tudor deal, but this might clarify the subject a little.

Anywhere from assembled from house-refinished-and-customized parts kits to wholly [or mostly wholly] manufactured in-house.

Hey, when will you open up the "Official: Answer To any Question" thread" for more mundane queries? Like these:

Why does the sound of running water make me want to tinkle?

Does freezing sneakers really kill the smell?

Why does my cousin's frozen lasagna taste like old sneakers?

Should I sell my Fidelity Japan and Australian Funds?

Will Milgauss watches rise in value or become mass-produced [more common] as electric cars become more prevelant?

An in house movement or in house caliber is a watch movement that has been designed & manufactured by the brand for their watches.

Depends on manufacturer. Stick to the all stars and it doesn’t really matter, don’t really care as the brand has so much merit, AP, Patek, Rolex, JLC, Omega etc. Panerai, IWC, some independents, might dig a little, depending on price, don’t really care either.
