Lovely example!

"went for lunch came back with yet another watch"

I can't tell you how many times, I went to a dealer or AD just to look and end up with a new watch.

Tell me about it, I've done that twice in the last month, was just 'looking' during my lunch hour, and came back with a gold daytona one time, and a day-date the next!!!

We have the same friend, Jedly1 / Andrew is AWESOME! I've met him personally several times as he's half based in Melbourne (which is where I am), I got my sub, gmt and milgauss from him, all within a space of a month!!! He's working hard to get me into vintage too, he's got an eye out for me on a 1964 birth year sub with a gilt dial!

Did he show you his new Patek???

the patek is absolutely sublime , didnt want to gvie him it back after i tried it on . the dial is stunning and the showpiece back even more so . the finish and the quality is trully wonderful .

This is what vintage Rolex is all about..

Perfect gilt dial / hands + superdome + faded insert + a matching strap to top it off

It sure is and it's super comfy and Supple and soft

Jed kindly gave me a coupla straps

I wasn't convinced about subs on straps but now I have been converted
Especially on this gilt dial a vintage strap just matches it perfectly

Here's the original insert that' was on it I swapped it out with another one I had as I didn't want to damage the original one , it's a fat fat font early 60s faded so rare as hens teeth and hard to replace so will keep it good and use my other 70s faded one I have which u see in the scans above
