Issue #11 - The Rolex Magazine and 2023-24 Book

Received a call from my AD to advise that the latest issue of The Rolex Magazine had just come in and my copy had been set aside along with the 2023-23 Rolex Book.

Looking forward to pouring a wee dram whilst I browse the latest material.

Winston

Yes, 2023-2024. It was introduced, along with the RM #11, at W&W.

I’m having real trouble getting hold of issue 11. It’s the only one I’m missing, and the AD who used to sort me out for these magazines has lost their Rolex AD status/contract. The other AD near me (apparently!) never has them to give away.

I grabbed this issue when I picked up my Daytona and GMT Master from service at RSC Toronto last Wednesday.

The article, "Geography of Excellence" in this issue was fascinating to read. I've been aware of the excellence behind how Rolex produces their watches, but for me at least, this article fully articulated the devotion to excellence and precision of engineering these watches undergo.

From COSC certification of -4/+6 from which the watch, "then heads for Superlative Control, located in the underground floors of the Acacias site."

The Superlative Chronometer on Rolex watches, "the criteria are strict. The rate of deviation must not exceed -2/+2 seconds per day, a much tighter requirement than that of the COSC chronometer certification standards."

After these watches are subjected to Superlative Control, they then earn, "the Superlative Chronometer inscription that it bears on it's dial."

The entire process, from each factory, is outlined and explained, it's a great read, highly recommend.....
