Help on Rolex 1675
Hi everyone,
the 1675 is the Rolex I fell in love when I was a teenager. Prices are raising year by year and I'd like to buy one before it is "too late". That said, I found the following piece in my city: a long E from 1967. It looks like hands have been replaced and the patina on the indices doesn't look so natural. What's your opinion? Any suggestion? thx in advance |

Hands rarely change at the same rate as the dial. Dial and hands are manufactured separately with different batches of lume so frankly matchy matchy dial and hands are always suspect. New collectors want matchy matchy so great effort is expended in finding hands that uh match. lol, always smell matchy matchy, if you smell coffee, time to yell at your seller. :)
The problem with the watch you show is very thin lugs. The springbars serve as wear indicators, as you can see, the bars on that watch are approaching the interior edge of the hole. The lugs can (and probably will) be re-welded but the selling price should reflect the condition of the case. |

Looks ok to me. Case is polished in the usual dealer-prep for sale style. I'm not seeing any obvious concerns about the lume, but that's all I can say from those photos. '67 would be zinc sulfide, I guess. If so, an inspection under UV would be interesting.
