Everyone getting “the call”?

I got the call last month after 18 months on the list for an LV. I absolutely love it, and I’m so glad I got “the call,” but does anybody get the sense anymore that everybody’s getting “the call”?

Nope

I haven’t gotten Rolex call since 2020, but then again I’m not pushing my AD hard for one either. Just gentle nudging.

Not quite like that but sense it is shifting.

Ran through my head when I got the call recently for the Daytona.

I’m an absolute nobody with almost zero spend who doesn’t live anywhere near the ADs that I have been working with.

3 x calls this year, including yesterday. With the latest being kind enough to ship the Watch out of state :)

No. Stopped by my local AD to chat and their position is even longer wait times. The economic downturn hasn’t effected their Rolex interest at all. The manager laughed in disbelief when he saw my white SS Daytona and said that is at least a “decade wait” model and inquired how/where I purchased it.

Not me. On "the list" for an SD43 and/or YM Rhodium at two different ADs. Months and months. Zippo.

Yes stopped by one of my ADs yesterday as well. We had a good chat, but he said the same yours did - just as difficult, if not more so.

Demand has not changed for watches purchased at AD’s for msrp, what is/has changed though is the secondary market demand/supply.

Getting the call after 18 months on the list is not too encouraging for people just trying to get on lists.

This manager casually commented “The new no date Sub 41” is closer to two years or beyond. He had the demo models to fondle in a lonely display case and that was it. I made sure he knew I buy my models down south in Florida and wasn’t really trying to get on any list of interest but would be happy to direct others to him personally.

I think the job market may have the most effect. Remember that Rolexes are actually rather inexpensive in the world of horology. People start losing jobs, things change on retail side. It won’t happen this holiday season, that’s for sure.

One of the ADs i shop at did say that some people are turning down watches. But, his list is too deep. He’s 2-4 years deep per watch for existing/vip customers. That’s not including the new requests they sometimes record to report and just toss out.

I received the text on a SS Dj36 mint green dial, jubilee flute bezel but passed on it. Now if it was a Palm dial version that would have been a different story.

I received three text offers from 2 different ADs in the last 3 months for pieces I am not interested in. Whereas previously it was zero.

This feels like my wait on an LV to date. I can’t even seem to get a bezel insert. Probably been waiting 6mos just for that, significantly longer for the LV

Am waiting on 'the call', but it's not a Rolex.

No call here but in the next 5 weeks leading up to when Rolex stops shipping before Christmas is when a lot of watches are delivered. So staying hopeful
