Exactly. You are giving up a lot of gold on a " pm " piece for not much of a difference in price.

Nay for me. At that price I would want the full watch in PM.

Exactly. And there’s no option to buy a PM bracelet.

But PM pieces that came with the original factory bracelet can be swapped out for an OF option.

Vice versa isn’t possible according to my AD.

I wonder sometimes if Oysterflex would be nice 15-20 years from now.

If the full braclet PM Daytonas came with a ceramic bezel that'd be the best of both worlds.

One vote for no thanks.

Hard to imagine OF looking new and still classic in 10+years, especially if worn in the real world. 30 years = no chance.

If AD offered with accompanying “real” bracelet, that would be easy.

I have one watch on rubber strap because it suits its toolwatch rugged look. Leather seems like a better alternative to me on a PM piece.

Oysterflex yay or nay? And why ?

It’s a yay x 2 for me.

I have the Daytona white gold OF 116519 and I have just requested the yellow gold OF 116518 from my dealer too.

My best watch by far….

I personally really like the OF bracelet. One of the most comfortable straps to wear but sizing is really key to get a good fit for OF.

I think Oysterflex references are great! It’s a very comfortable bracelet and well engineered. It fits in perfect if you have a collection already with full precious metal pieces, so you have the best of both worlds.

The key is to make sure the authorized dealer sizes it correctly and has all the proper tools. The mini Glidelock on the new YM40 (126655), YM42 (226659 / 226658), and Sky-Dweller Oysterflex helps in achieving comfort and the ideal sizing.

I hope Rolex rolls out the mini Glidelock on their Daytona oysterflex references. It’s the only one left in the lineup that doesn’t have it yet.

It's a nay for me.
I prefer a rubber strap on my beater watches.

Definitely yes. Loving this bad boy on oyster. It’s very comfortable, and all gold would be way too much bling for me. Oyster makes it much more casual…

You can just buy a brand new bracelet if that time comes and you feel like it needs a new bracelet.

IIRC I don’t think a bracelet can be added to oysterflex models.

I have an OF set that I bought for a ND sub (sold the watch). I thought it worked for the sub and was comfortable to wear. That said, I find the notion of spending 30 grand on a watch that comes on a rubber strap silly.

It is silly. This has to be one of the weirdest things ever cooked up by Rolex.

Now offering it as an _option_ would be totally different. Bracelets still the standard issue (choice between jubilee & oyster on everything) and you can the the correct size rubber strap for any watch if you wish. But of course this will never happen It's the Rolex way or the highway.

Love the OF Daytona. It is one of the watches I wear the most. A true panda that looks great, flies under the radar. One I would not part with. Wears higher on the wrist than a Daytona with a bracelet.

This was really my take also. I would rather cough up the extra cash and get all gold.

I have a 116519 on OF. An OF is great in at least a 3 or 4 watch collection but I would not want it to be my only nice watch. It does take some time to get used to the OF but once you do get used to it, it is very comfortable and a nice change of pace among a collection of watches on bracelets.

The great/fun part about the OF bracelet is how paradoxical it is! A 30k watch on a rubber strap is something hard to understand except for people who are really into it! I think SS is so cliche these days, such that most people who actually have a SS are just buying one to fit the gang. People with OF watches on the other hand seem to enjoy their watches more.

I had a RG YM on the Oysterflex. I looked larger on my wrist. It flares out at the lugs and the fins weren't the most comfortable. I think maybe the Daytona would look and feel better because of the end links.

YAY!

In my case, one of my grails is the 116515 which I have (thankfully)

I love the OF, I love the ceramic bezel and how it all ties together. The 116505 is stunning, but it is a bit too much in your face with nothing to break up the look. If I were to get a full RG watch, I think it would need to be the DD40 olive

I've tried on the oysterflex daytona; it was one of the most comfortable watches i've ever put on.
