I’m 71, fluted, Roman’s, Jubilee…feels like that’s all the bells and whistles. I gifted this exact watch to my now 40 year old son when he graduated from college in 2005.

I prefer the stick. It is easier to read for me and I like the way it makes the dial look.

I don't think have anything to do with age, best way is asking your dad for his preference.

+ 1, I thought Dad would like a DJ after wearing a Sub for 50 years he chose a BLNR. Cheers to enjoying the journey

Another vote for batons. They look nicer to me in this model. I like Roman numerals in dress watches.

Sticks and fluted bezel. Those smooth bezels remind me of taxi hubcaps from the 70’s

Is the 41 definitely the way to go? At his age, may still be used to more traditional proportions. Any event, I’d go sticks.

I’d go sticks, fluted bezel, jubilee bracelet and 36mm because that’s the combo I prefer.

I would personally say the batons. I’m not 70, but it’s just a lot less busy which makes it more timeless and elegant in my eyes.

Stick and smooth bezel. Easier to read and less flashy than a fluted one. Making it less of a target. I am 71.

Not 70 yet. I have preference for the stick dial. Looks more balanced to me.

Only 68 but I'll chime in anyway Personally I dislike Roman numerals , batons are my choice . I'd love the DJ with blue dial ,batons , Jubilee & smooth bezel

If he's unassuming , maybe doesn't like the cyclops - go OP 41

Or really step up to the plate - Bluesy!!
