I wear my Rootbeer everywhere with everything. Its a great looking watch. And trust me… no one really notices Our watches but Us. And those that do, mistake it for a Michael Kors

I don't personally like it, but I wouldn't consider it douchey.

There are some watches that really stick out as douchey, but a TT GMT isn't one of them.

It’s all in the eye of the perceiver. However, it’s a beautiful watch, but it does make its presence known. I sold my Pepsi and a Daytona, as I was tired of asking myself the same question. I think anyone who thinks people don’t notice Rolex watches are very mistaken. Rolex spends a fortune on marketing and everyone knows what a Rolex is and looks like, and yes rightly or wrongly some people will judge you . The green goblin of greed is generally the motivator. It really only matters how you judge yourself? Just the fact that you’re asking yourself that question kind of answers your own question. Like anything what you wear sometimes is judged in the context, not in what you have. Wearing a Rolex on a soup line versus wearing a Rolex in the boardroom, it’s all about the context.

That is a proper dial, not the black one they put on the current one.

That sounds so disingenuous, Rolex makes this stunning watch because it’s stunning; people buy such a stunning watch because it is stunning.
Not disingenuous, I have learnt that a gentleman should always politely acknowledge the compliments in a modest way that appreciates the compliment.

Most people do not realise the value of the watch and I do not tell them. To tell them...now That would be douchey.

Root Beer GMT: Classy or douchey watch?

I think the classy vs douchey argument can be made for any modern Rolex watch, depending on the person wearing it and the perception of whose looking at it.

Buy it if YOU like it, as long as you’re not a douche it won’t come off that way lol.

I love the Sub for its material beauty but the TT CHNR is more sophisticated and visually clever.
Very true, you never know until you see it in person and on your wrist. I had the same reaction to my Explorer I 39mm. I originally thought it was the most boring piece in the catalog based on pictures and then I tried it on and I had to have it.

Agree CHNR > Sub TT. The CHNR is frankly one of the most visually interesting pieces Rolex makes.

I usually hate two-tone but the Rootbeer is one of the few I'd wear. Beautiful piece

Picked it up from my AD from whom I've also purchased a black dial Explorer II last year. One year wait for the GMT and walk-in purchase for the Explorer.

My Explorer II is my everyday piece and it's a watch that I love dearly. It mainly goes unnoticed and I wear it for pretty much everything. At the office, when traveling, at restaurants, when hiking, etc. It is in my opinion THE perfect Rolex sports watch and by far my favorite of the two.

The Root Beer GMT is a stunning watch, and a piece that I never thought I would own. I'm not a fan of two tone watches but the rose gold works well in contrast with the slightly darker steel.

While the Explorer II hardly draws any attention the root beer is certainly eye-catching and I do feel a bit self-conscious when wearing it. I'm a bit torn on whether to view it as a classy watch or a watch that screams ostentatious douchebag.

With that in mind I find the watch to be fairly limited in settings and places in which I can wear it comfortably, which does take away some of the enjoyment of owning a watch of that caliber.
Has anyone actually commented on the watch? If so, how many times have you heard comments? I agree that most don't notice watches. I'm generally in too much motion for people to size up my wrist. I guess, perhaps if I were in face to face sales I might worry but other than that sort of situation I'd not worry at all.

Just picked one up. Once it was on the wrist, I fell in love.

Great watch, the rootbeer with the rose gold.

Two tone is never a good look

Sorry

Classy. A douchey attitude is on the wearer, not on the watch.

I generally am not a TT fan but I find it an incredibly handsome watch that sometimes gets overshadowed by the BLNR and BLRO, but I think you could make the argument that it is, in fact, a more handsome watch than the BLNR and BLRO.

It is probably a much more visible watch than most other Rolex models simply because it is very eye-catching and pleasing to the eyes.

If you like it, definitely wear it!

Not douchy at all. I think it’s beautiful. There are just other models/colors that would be on on my list that are ahead of it.

IMO, the adjectives 'classy' or 'douchey' apply more to people, not watches. Your appearance is dictated much more by your sense of fashion/style than whatever watch you're wearing. Which, speaking of watches, I think you're being a little unfair with the CHNR. I can't think of many everyday situations it wouldn't be at home with, TBH.

But most importantly, you're overthinking it. Just enjoy your watches. You've got two great ones.

If you think the CHNR is "eye catching" then you should try wearing a bluesy.

The Bluesy gets 10x more attention than my CHNR .. i feel that the CHNR is the understated piece.

-- as far as weather its duechy or not -- well.. the watch is just a watch, and how you wear it is what would make it duechy or not.

Are you a douche?

not necessarily douchey watch, however it should be mandatory to sport a mustache to pull off the 2-tone look! (gmt, dj, sub, etc.)

The Rootbeer is not a Douchey watch, it is the Douchey watch.
