Icon6 How can I reason with this AD? Gmt

I found a blnr, blro, and two subs today at an AD. They said the watches are display models and won't be sold.....Except to "the wait list"

I asked why "the wait list" hasn't come to buy them yet. No clear answer.

The dealer tried to entice me to buy something first for a chance at a gmt. I offered $500 tip in cash as a last attempt. No luck. Any thoughts?

You need to offer to buy the whole AD then fire the SA who told you this and hire a new one who would sell you one without being on “the list”

They are display only. I know that seeing them on display makes you feel like you are one step closer, but if you are not a big spender there, and you are not on "the list", them having them on display means very little for you.

Some stock filters though the case as exhibition models but all gets sold in the end. It would surprise me if they even let you handle it.

$500? Lol. When they bundle you with a precious metal, they make a bit more than the $500 tip. Sounds insulting.

Just kidding good luck

Buy a jewelry store, work for many years building up a reputation, then apply to Rolex when you're ready to make room for the build-out.

A sales associate at one of the AD’s in VA said he turned down someone who offered him $3000 cash to sell him the ss Daytona black dial. I am not sure what the cut off “bribe” price is these days.

Spent $50k on worthless jewelry (ie. diamonds) at that AD and the safe will open. You'll be near the top of the mythical "list."

My SA said I'm still short, need more jewelry The amount of supplemental spending corresponds exactly to the current BLNR street price so I won't be buying it from the AD.

$500 is short for sure. In 2020 I offered a local AD 25k for a white dial 116500LN as my last ditch effort. Was denied and immediately purchased from a trusted seller here on the forum. Never looked back and am still amazed when I look at the watch.

Not sure about the SA, but offering $500 tips, aka bribe, is going to put you on the wrong side of an AD who might think you as a flipper and thus won't sell you anything in the future.

Now this is interesting! Everyone has a number, but the person could lose their job, the store could lose their right to sell Rolex. Not a great idea.

It took me a gold piece and a datejust before they offered me a GMT. Literally as soon as I paid for the datejust, he offered the GMT and anything else I wanted. The GMT was instant, others varied from weeks to months to over a year.

If you want action from the AD seems like you have to buy 3 watches then the gates open up a bit. The tricky part is getting that first watch, sometimes it’s just luck. If the AD sells other jewelry, find somewhere that only sells Rolex.

The exhibition models are not for sale to you or anyone else. You were not singled out.

This is south America. negotiate is daily life. I told them I understood rolex policy. I came across in a joking manner.

No, not trying to game the system. I tried to buy the blro to replace one I flipped because I wanted oyster bracelet

You flipped the jubilee BLRO because you wanted it on oyster? Is that the excuse you gave your AD?

I’m willing to bet that at least some of these are from the dealer’s regular stock. I’ve never heard of an actual (noon-functioning or functioning but w/o paperwork) BLRO. BLNR is part of the standard set, but not the Pepsi.

Yes pretty much. Although at the time only the blnr had it. Didn't discuss any of this with the AD as it's not my local one.

I once walked into Burger King having forgot I wore my balaclava and my all black track suit and got in front of the line and 22 free Whoppers.

Could work at an AD.

First you already shot your self in the foot. Where did you get the idea of $500???? Buy high margin items from AD like jewelry.
