Don't think that's the case - if you watch the video, he's talking about 'Asians' only putting up the sign. It sounds like a genuine mistake to me.

Reminds me of a saying my Grandfather said, "my son, my pig. my counterpart". This was a dedication from a father to his son in the news papers in the 30's. It should have read "my son, my protege', my counterpart".
