Absolutely not a fan. Having spent so much time on this site, it’s something I never realized but it’s great not having these ads on here.

Ok, now we know it's a formal trial by TRF...I am going to start a poll thread in this section to garner feedback.

EDIT: I didn't see that a poll had been added. Makes sense to do so. Thank you!

....or perhaps simply for members. Right now there are 958 members and 1019 visitors on TRF. Perhaps there’s a way to let the visitors have the ads...

Could we limit the ads to Rolex ADs that have S/S Professional watches available for sale in their display cases?

I’m also getting them now.

“Create your own jewelry!”

Pretty savvy marketer knowing about the SS Rolex shortage and tempting me to build my own.

As for the ads, they seem pretty unobtrusive for now.... and if they meant more chances for “inbox upgrades”, I wouldn’t mind one bit. ;-)

As for the poll, tough to vote until knowing more about the initiative....

I still use Safari on my MacBook Air, and changed the preferences setting from "block and notify" to "block" for the TRF website. That appears to have done the trick.

Getting regular pop ups now. It’s not only annoying, they’re becoming a distraction.
These pop ups are a detriment to the TRF experience.

That’s a possibility, but I far prefer the normal web version of TRF.

Icon8 Pop-up Ads?

Not Cool & Annoying

Don't click on an ad, god forbid they think it works and keep sending them!

I donate every year and would happily donate more to keep it ad free.

Perhaps there's a way to deactivate them for subscribers?

I do enjoy ad-free service with TapaTalk Pro right now.

Quick question for Rob or Paul - would the Adverts extend to that server, too? (i.e., if the decision is made to go forward).

Second question - could you elaborate on the benefits and tradeoffs in running adverts. Thus far the response seems 100% negative but maybe there’s new features coming that would be funded by the adverts? Like removing picture size limits (prolly the #1 rant I see).

Ads in TRF

I usually use an iPad on TRF and I just noticed an ad appears every time I pick a thread or go back to another page. Are you guys having the same thing?

I just got a pop up ad for ad blocker. Very temping to click on it.

My 2 cents would be as follows: segregate the ads to non members if possible, bump up the annual membership fee minimum, more opportunities to increase message storage space.

Let's not get any panties in a bunch. There may be method in the apparent madness.

We may be rounding up all the troublemakers in order to ship them off to Myspace.
