Yes for me. Safari and Chrome, iPad and computer, thread to thread.

Glad I found this thread as I have been scrambling for the past 30 mins trying to troubleshoot my antivirus and Adblock software.

I really thought it was just me and my luck. Glad the mods caught my post right away and sent me here. I guess we were lucky and avoided ads for a long time while on TRF, everything good comes to an end.

Still not as bad as the Bimmerfest forums. Those videos make it unbearable to scroll.

Glad it’s just a test. I was worried for a bit. I used to be on a car forum that was hacked. This is how it started there.

As others have said, I would happily donate more annually to prevent ads. The server costs must be astronomical with all the pics over thousands (tens of thousands?) of threads.

I’ll be blunt. I enjoy the camaraderie and knowledge I’ve built up here but I’m not willing to deal with this for a little watch chat. Whomever thought this was a good idea...don’t see how you could possibly have thought the members here would embrace it.

Advertisement Banners at bottom of page

Just noticed the advertisements today. Do they go away if I become a pledge member, or do I need to block them at the domain level?

Glad it’s not just me. I vote for NO ADS for members. They definitely “take away” from the TRF experience.

Hmm...I wondered if I would get used to it. Just the opposite. It is distracting me more and more. Really interferes as you are trying to read through a thread that has good commentary.

of course ownership is entitled to sell adspace. But to call it a test? These "test" ads still pay money

For some more totally true news, Gerardo spent 1000 hours planning WisCON and lost a million dollars of his own money producing 100 rubber bracelets

Is this one of those “all good things must come to an end” scenarios, or can the ads be disabled via paid membership? I don’t want to have to disable them via dns blacklisting

What it actually means is that there would be zero ads.

Have to be honest I really don’t like seeing pop up ADs, particularly when I donate every year to the cause. Paid members shouldn’t have the ADs imho.

Very distracting and downgrades the experience greatly.

Whew I thought it was just me until I ran across this thread. This was happening to me on both WUS and TRF. I tried 3 different browsers but it happened on all 3. It seems to have stopped in the last 1/2 hour or so. Hopefully it's gone for good. Man that was driving me nuts :)

Edit: on a side note I don't think I could've found this particular forum if I tried. Who knew?

At the bottom of every page when you view on laptop.

Thankfully absent on mobile.

I always block all ads, my work pc does so automatically.

This does explain the slowness I am getting though on Chrome as the ads need to be blocked.

Remembering why I have all but stopped using this forum

Remember that day we had popup adverts?

That was fun and no one complained at all.

Weird... I'm not getting them this morning but was all last evening.

I agree that it takes away from the enjoyment of the forum.
