Diamonds on a watch are pretty offensive too. Can we ban pictures of the Datejust Royal Black? That thing offends my delicate sensibilities.

Just a little friendly advice, if you want to stick around, I would drop it and not push the issue. Personally, I found no offense with your avatar, I actually thought it was cool, but it's not my forum and rules are rules.

I actually thought it was pretty funny....

OP - you may want to read the house rules - clearly you don't really understand them, as you posted this in the wrong place!

Honestly - just kidding, but you should relax. This is not a public sandbox, we are all just guests. Not our rules.

They should have sent him a PM and asked him to change it first before they just went ahead and changed it... my 2cents.

Also, a PM requesting that I change the image would have been appreciated instead of modifying my avatar to the point where Bond's face is so magnified that you can hardly identify him (I thought this was the result of a computer glitch), and then modifying my avatar to include an obnoxious note. Poor form if you ask me.

Why make such a big fuzz about it?

Change the avatar, (or leave it) and move on.

Oh boy.............. here we go again................

This is an international forum.......... In today's environment, there are a number of countries and cultures, and even individual convictions; who seem to go over the deep end whenever they see a gun.......

So.......... the forum has had to come up with rules to keep some sense of civility concerning such things that are fairly simple, don't actually affect reality, and level the Forum atmosphere....

................... We get tired of the continuous reporting of threads and avatar pictures over and over again because somebody thinks the rules are silly and shouldn't apply to them....

.... Here is the bottom line.............. The Forum will get along just fine without folks who get their nose out of joint simply because they are intent on pushing the envelope....

.........Open forum gripes and complaining can only lead to one resolution...........

Okay, just watched a good movie ("Layer Cake," which was recommended by others on TRF) and did some poking around on the Internet for good Bond pics. You'd be surprised how many include a gun. Anyway, since I prefer vintage Rolex, I thought I'd go with some vintage Bond. Thoughts?

if you are trying to cast yourself in the vein of a macho screen idol, you would do

better if you posted a little, (or a lot), less whining. As Tools said, the rules are there to promote and ensure civility in communication here. Clearly you are not particularly interested in maintaining civil communication here, or you might have done what you tried to claim you wanted in the first place, sent a PM expressing your point of view instead of starting an entire, wasted, non-watch-related thread complaining about the enforcement of a rule that was here and being obeyed for years before you ever even heard of this forum.
