Robby,
The pearl is installed from the front. Lay the insert flat and with a small tweezers, gently lay the pearl info position. I then use a pith-wood stick to gently push it in, sometimes you'll get lucky and a finger will work. Don't press too hard, it shouldn't take too much force. When it's properly installed, you'll get a nice "snap" Try to set it up in a tray, if you drop the pearl, you'll have a hard time finding it again. If both pearl and insert are in good condition, no glue is needed. If one or both are worn, a tiny dab of glue can be used on the underside. TINY dab of glue!! If too much is used, it will overflow ruining the insert. Just take your time, lining it up properly is extremely important. If it's not going well, take it out and try again or have a watchmaker do it. |

What NSUMMER said. Also be real careful on what glue you use depending on your future plans. Something with a good hold but not so hard to prevent damage to pearl. I have used GS hypo and Elmer's glue

FYI - My Rolex Service Center (in NYC) replaced a lost pearl for no charge to me.

The only thing I would add is don't do this on white carpet.
Live and learn.

perhaps a tiny dab of clear nail varnish would secure it in place.
