My Rolex 1500 case a replica ??
I have a Rolex Date 1500, with 1570 movement, circa 1972.
There is something thats been bugging me for a while though.. the lug shanks on the case look different on each corner. Thinner on one side ever so slightly, pics follow. So i was wondering why, do others have this problem ? Or is my case possibly a copy ? Between the lugs i have the correct model number and serial numbers. although very faint.. is that also correct to have faint stamped numbers ? I need help on this, as nobody seems to know the answer. Thanks in advance.

Much more likely the result of polishing over the years. I wouldn't sweat it.

Thanks guys, i will just live with it.
Or maybe get a good watchmaker to try and level them out a bit at some point. |

The other two guys beat me to it. The faint engravings between the lugs is also do to over polishing. Don't sweat it. My numbers are faint , too.

as above stated simply over zealous polishing over the years, the faint serial numbers are a result on endpiece rubbing most likely, the inside of your case is badly corroded, this really cant be fixed, can the case maintain waterproofness, if your not attached to this particular watch, i would sell and get a case in better condition but thats just my opinion, otherwise enjoy.

The corrision i can live with ive been told i can get that done along with a service.
I dont want rid of the watch though, i think that would be a bit of a drama. |

yes i agree there, i wouldnt go near water with it even if it had been sealed by a rolex service centre, i never do with any of my watches.
