<<<< Bluesy Sub C or SD 4K Ceramic >>>>
Ok diver fans !!!!
The iconic Bluesy Sunburst Blue Dial or The illustrious SD 4K Ceramic which had a fairly short run if only one as a daily wearer ... ??? Now I know the Bluesy is TT but putting that aside looking at just the dial, feel and wearability which would You choose as a daily wearer and only one and why ??? Please no TT haters as this is one of if not the most iconic TT Rolex sport models of the part 30 years... Warning !!! Your derogatory comments of the TT Sub will be laughed at, disconsidered and immune ... please refrain from negative comments other than it’s not to my personal taste or liking !!! TT is not for everyone I understand but this thread is not about TT!!! It’s about the watch itself and the wearability, plus overall feel !!! Ok now , those of you who’ve had both please chime in as I most likely will get a SD 4K but can only keep one for now unfortunately... Thank you my TRF brethren and enablers... Pics are welcomed and please share your honesty !!! The Bluesy is my favorite Rolex sport model but am willing to give the SD 4K C a go around ... Thank you !!! |

The dial on the 116613 is beautiful, no doubt about it.
For a daily I'd pick the 116600

Mind says 116600.
Heart says Bluesy. It's the sports model I like the most but the one I can't justify buying myself based on utility. Maybe one day...

116600. Both could do the trick but I prefer the versatility of an all brushed SS black dial diver.

I am not a big TT fan but if I was to have one the choice would be the 116613LB. The sunburst dial is amazing and as with any Submariner you can do it all with the watch. With that said, I would buy the 116600. I prefer the SS and black, the depth rating, even though I do not dive. And the overall ruggedness of the watch. It has been discontinued which can only add to the appeal and value down the road. The TT should stay in production moving forward and could be a nice addition when your funds allow. It may be more expensive to reverse that process and pick up the SD later. Good luck and I look forward to seeing your incoming post.

I have both and it’s a tough choice. I’ve struggled with the same decision and have decided to save the Blusey for spring and summers and at our beach home and the SD for basically everything else.

Mario,
This forum is going to go with steel over TT every time...overwhelmingly so. There is no better looking watch than the bluesy, IMO (Unless you're talking about the full gold version). If you get rid of it, you will regret it. If I was forced at gunpoint to trade a bluesy for a steel diver, I would go with the SD43 or the LV-C. Just my two cents. |

Can't believe this thread has your signature, Mario . Don't let the LB TT go. The SD is thick, has minute markers missing on the bezel, great feature for a tool watch. Also, no beauty contest between them either. One shouldn't let go his favourite watch for the excitement of a new purchase. Since you've said the 116618LB is your grail, follow that path if you want to replace the TT with something else.

The TT Blue Sunburst dial model is perhaps my favorite TT Rolex. It's the one flip I regretted but replaced with the PM version.

I think Rolex's strong resale value, which is an absolutely great thing, has a bit of a negative. It leads one to think of getting rid of their favourite watch, to "try" the next shiny thing that comes along. Its an excellent situation if you "built" that way, ie love to flip, sell watches, take a minimum loss here and there. If you are not, like me, you still get tempted and struggle with this from time to time. From time to time I think of how I could sell my SubC for more than I paid for it and get XX...in my situation I am glad I haven't done it.
So really it is up to you. If you really want to try the SD, go for it. I prefer the Bluesy by far but for a one and only I would go Sub. I do think you will miss the bluesy though it is a stunning watch. A few pics of mine..

I would love to have one for some occasions or even just to look at it at home :-) But yet again, after thinking of it, I would go with something more toned down for a daily wear. It's a very hard decision. Why don't you try a SD 4K on once to see how you feel with it... Good luck |

Don’t do it man. You love your LB and will miss it. Wait and save and get a black dialed diver down the road. I have the LB and 114060 and it would be a tough choice between the two but in my heart I know I would keep the LB. I wear them about equally. Rarely wear my other two Rolex.

I prefer the SD4K as a daily wearer but still think that you shouldn’t sell your favorite watch to fund it. You will regret it.

I adore the SD4K as it it my favourite SS of all time. But, it is SS and not the TT Blue.
Currently I wear my TT Blue and it has a place in my heart and I always go back to it specifically. I would not do that unless I knew I was going to reaquire the TT down the road when funds permit. If I was a one watch guy, TT Blue for me. |

Don't get rid of the 116613. You will miss the gorgeous blue sunburst that you will not get in the SD4K. Look at my avatar (yup I'm biased). Good luck with your decision.

Mario,
Of the two, the 116613LB (and I prefer the 116613LN) Beautiful dial, iconic, and you love yours. Now, If the SD43 was in the mix, that would be (and was) my choice as I sold the 116613LN to make way for the 126600.
