Not $5000 worth IMHO. .

Will be interesting to see what the $7800 one on Ebay does. Want in one hand and in the other and see what you get first. Here are the most recent Ebay solds. There are some isolated swings each way but by and large Chase is on point here.

These things are not going to sell for $7800 yet... especially with only 3 pictures. Eventually yes but today no.

Dings on a black bay..... haha!

These things scratch if you breath on them. Never turn down a black bay because of a few scratches. There was a thread on WUS where the guy wore his B.B. everyday for a year and his daily suit scratched the daylights out of the watch. It looked awesome though!

Stick with buying from the Rolex forum. There are a couple right now all priced fairly. Anything over $5,000 right now is too much.

Not me I’m still a newbie at TRF. I’d join but is it presumptuous for a newbie to start such a bold thread?

This is a great summary for anyone trying to decode the Rose watches-could be a sticky! Although truthfully the red came out in what 2013? And production ceased in 2016. More like 3 years?

The black ones are rare from what I can see in the UK.

I have checked chrono24, ebay and some of the usual grey dealers and I can't find any for sale at all.

I would avoid buying these grey as you need the warranty card for proof of what you have.

Agreed, but it does affect pricing eg. this on in the mid 3k range.

If the movement keeps great time most are happy. In house doesn’t mean much if the older model is still running well. Aesthetically people prefer the Rose dials.

And 20 years from now my service by an independent will be cheap and will not require a Rolex parts account to get pieces like the in house will.

Seller pulled this one.

I had an email exchange with seller- they are worried to sell now and miss the highest sell point.

Raised to $8500 just prior to the pull.

Great point. The whole justification for the in house movement is to retain service in house vs independent watch makers. Basically monopolizing the service industry. Then they can charge $2-$3k for a service and you will not have an alternative solution. Chalk it up to one more win for the Rose.

They have a good point. No one knows how high prices on these will go but I think $10,000 and up is extremely optimistic. I think anything under $5,000 is still a win.

The ETA Rose dials are safe! The only watches with the Rose and Smiley text.

I am surprised that Tudor didn't bring back the Rose Logo on some of the new models. Does anyone know if the Ranger is discontinued?
