Final Predictions

Exciting times.

With Basel a few days away, I’m excited.

Lots of predictions, as always, and lots of threads. With just a few days away, I’m confident in one watch coming out. The rest, I’ve no idea.

But I truly think a WG Coke GMT will be released. With the discontinued BLRO, it just makes sense. It will still be a huge seller and Rolex will make a fortune, with less work to put out tons of the watch in SS.

I thought it would be fun to have this thread as a reference for anyone that can go back and say “see, I got it right”.

The WG Coke is my prediction. What’s your?

Rolex will offer something new in some way.

I guess I can now say I was correct after Basel!

Cellini chronograph. To me it makes sense as the next addition following the moonphase from last year.

My prediction is an enhanced GMT lineup. The Root beer will come back in pink gold and a revised SS LN with the option of either oyster or jubilee bracelet. I don’t think will see a coke this year.

They will announce something new.

Everyone will go crazy, mostly complaining: I didn't want that. That is against the heritage. I don't like the lugs...

There will be a huge queue at the ADs to buy it.

I'll go with SS GMT Coke on Jubilee updated with Glidelock feature. While I have no secret insider info... It's what I would really want to buy so I'll make it my final prediction. Less than a week for the reveal.

Perhaps both. Asking to accurately predict Rolex 2018 plans is akin to suggesting you can come up with winning lottery numbers. Has someone been successful so far?

Just move along brother.

It’s just a watch forum. And just having a little fun. Clearly no one knows...that’s why it’s a prediction.

And now back to our regularly scheduled, relaxing watch forum...I predict this thread will stay on the rails and offer some fun speculation. My prediction #2 will be:

The classic Sub with some red highlights.

Exactly. Some fun speculation in a watch forum, days before the Super Bowl for watch nerds.

I’m also thinking likely more on oysterflex.

SS YM on OF would be hard not to buy.

I think the Coke GMT is pretty good speculation— but I have a sneaking suspicion we will be surprised and it might very well be released in stainless steel....

....other things I’ve been contemplating are the return of the Turn-o-Graph...and the Root Beer GMT....

....how about a platinum Submariner??!! I think we may see a new glacier blue dial...

it looks more like ss to my eyes than white gold in the Rolex teaser.

I predict no case size change for GMT and Sub, but I do predict a revamped lineup for both, including new movement on PM editions, new color combinations, and new bracelet options (jubilee for GMT, and maybe Oysterflex for Sub).

That’s my guess as well.

I would be shocked if they made it WG. They couldn’t sell BLROs and they sure as heck won’t be able to sell WG cokes any faster. Then again, Rolex doesn’t seem to act rational. Who knows!

I want a new submariner 124060. That would excite me.

As much as I love Basel and all of the excitement that it brings us, I quit trying to predict Rolex Basel releases.
So if I were to guess, I predict that I’d be wrong.

I'm hoping you're wrong on the coke being gold... I'm counting on SS.

Something is up with the subs as well, at least. All this inventory shortage may be a sign of changes coming, and I'm hoping that the new stuff has already been in production so we aren't waiting months before any of it hits the market.

Reshaped but not resized cases for sub and GMT. New movements. Changes to material, dial & bezel combos of same. Then, many other things that are not of WIS or wide selling interest (e.g. re Cellini etc)
