2018 Rolex Jubilee Analysis... A surprise...
See for yourself... Check the width of the outer links compared to the inner links in the Rolex teaser video and two other Jubilee bracelets. The ratio is different. What does this mean? To me, it seems that it could mean two things.
1. The inner links are wider so the bracelet will be 21 or 22 mm wide. 2. The outer links are less wide and the inner links are wider which will ensure a stronger center area which should reduce ability to stretch, but if you have felt a recent Jubilee, they are very sturdy. Not anything like the old ones. The outer link to inner link width ratio is definitely different. Attached is a photo to show what I'm talking about. Check it out. What could this mean? |

I noticed that too. Might be a new transitional jubilee for sports models.

Good observation.. The ratio is definitely different.. Possibly a larger case too?

Now I'm thinking slightly larger case and slimmer inner lugs. Maybe a 41 mm case. I don't think they will go 43 with this one, but maybe. What would the world do with a 43mm GMT on the loose? It would be mass hysteria.

No worries. The point I was making is that in the wide shot of the bracelet, we can see that the outer links are normal width. The people thinking the proportions are different are focusing on the shot of the bracelet closest to the clasp. I don't think the video rendering is much, if any, different from a standard Jubilee.

Yes, it can. My post was unnecessarily brusque, and didn't explain my point clearly. I would edit it, but since it's already been quoted twice, I don't know that it will do any good. My point wasn't that this issue shouldn't be discussed, but that the focus on the links nearest the clasp leads to a faulty analysis and conclusion, which are the bases of the thread. Ultimately I think it's a non-issue. Anyway, my apologies to Tom for sounding snippy.

Here are some more pics.
Video shot with questionable link proportions: DJ41 Jubilee at the clasp: Wide shot of bracelet in the video. Note the links on the bottom half nearest the watch head: |

I don’t have DJ41. Would like to know : IF ignoring the proportion of each link, does the teaser bracelet and clasp look similar to the DJ41 bracelet and clasp?

Looks like the polished links cover more surface area? So, more shine/sparkle/bling?

The clasp is different, since the DJ does not have a flip-lock clasp. I think that's one of the major takeaways of the teaser: it's a sport clasp on a Jubilee, which is attached a sport case. It also has PCLs, which (based on the appearance of the case) means it's either on a GMT, or is PM on a Sub (unless Rolex is breaking two precedents by having both a Jubilee and PCLs on a stainless Sub.) As for how the rest of the bracelet compares to the Jubilee on DJ, I don't have a DJ, so I can't say exactly. But I've seen lots of pictures, and the one in the video doesn't look that different to me. That said, we don't get a good view of it.

Good eye OP. Hadn’t noticed that. As others may have stated: it’s likely that minor changes like this will allow this bracelet to only be used for the specific model that it’ll come with. We’ll see tomorrow!

Maybe it's going to be a lady's GMT at 37mm. Oooh...that would make this forum explode with rage!
