.......I came across this list and wanted to share it.

It's more of a grouping than ranking the watches in any particular order. I think it's actually a pretty accurate list for the most part.

One more thing (that I know is obvious to most here): the hierarchy within the groups.
For example, within the high end luxury group, AP, PP, A Lange and Suhn and Breguet all sit higher than JLC, GO, Piaget, Blancpain, etc.

Ditto for the luxury group--> Rolex, IWC, Panerai > Breitling and Omega.

lol-- fair enough, although I don't know that I agree that IWC is still > Panerai. I think 15 years ago-- definitely.

See nothing special in Panerai apart from their prices.

I think breitling is now at the bottom of that list. The quality of their watches is no where near rolex or even omega

Pointless list imo

Even within brands it varies so much. Eg I rate a Portugieser tourbillon in term of HH over anything rolex does. But I would rate a datejust over an iwc with an eta or sellita movement

LOL a lot of mistakes inside, needless to speak this so-called grouping is done on basis of what? Prices, personal appreciation or something else? Even the grouping of Watchtime is artificial though based or at least tried doing so, on some objective criteria.

What about "Watch Rankings in terms of Value Retention"?

I think Rolex would be the 1st, being followed by Patek as the 2nd. They generally have a much better resale value than all others, as you all know.

But what would be the 3rd? Would it be Audemars? Omega?

And what would be the 4th? The 5th?
