Apparently there is news on Bloomberg that Aphria is in serious talks with Molson Breweries. This could be big for the infused beer segment.

Bought some MPX Biocuetical (ticker MPXEF)

Thought I'd branch down to US market a bit as that is where the volume will be.

Just a matter of time before the whole country is medical or recreational. When Oklahoma just went medical, well that to me says prohibition has a really short shelf life. It is done.

MPX is selling in Arizona, Nevada, Maryland, Massachusetts and licensed in Canada as well.

On a prohibition is done note, Netflix has a show now called and I'm not making this up, "Cooking On High." Two chefs come in to go head to head cooking with cannabis. Their dishes are judged and graded by high af celebrities on the panel. Even airing in Japan, fully subtitled. Hysterical.

Thanks Gaijin. I was looking for a US play as the discussions in DC on both sides have seemed a lot more positive towards marijuana lately.

The Alberta supply deals were announced today.

no surprise that Aurora took the lead position with 25,000 kg commitment then canopy with 15,000 kg.

Supreme, Emblem, Organigram, Hiku/WeedMD, Aphria, Maricann and MedReleaf also announced deals.

Most of these guys also earned placements with Manitoba which was announced last week or so but they were smaller deals of course.

Still have Saskatchewan (similar in size to Manitoba) to go plus the 2 big ones... BC and of course Ontario.

Hey y'all, it's happening:

https://www.prnewswire.com/news-rele...300678854.html

and - Aphria owns about 9 million shares of Hiku (around 9% of the company).

very interesting market happenings. WEED/CGC are only getting stronger, plus about to have sp split... Aphria mysteriously moved their earnings announcement to the same date as Molson Coors (early Aug)...

I'm excited, don't know about you all

BC supply deals announced.

some more good news for MARI, FIRE, GENE, HVT and others mid-pack player getting some love from the provinces.

Incredibly deflated about EMH, VFF not being listed in there in their home province. first time i couldn't even... ever.

I had a buy order in on Emerald that I missed by like a penny, it was good-for-day, so it expired, next day I moved on to something else (swung CGC, I believe). Now I am glad I missed it, very disappointed for them.

Are you referring to me? I’m still here, just holding throughout what was expected to be a down Summer as everyone waits to see actual rec sales start on October 17th. People need to take the long view as the global legalization paradigm keeps slowly chugging along.

Of course, do your due diligence.
Tomorrow (July 19th, 2018) a first true cannabis play will IPO on a US exchange. Tilray (TLRY) will debut on Nasdaq, around $14-$16. Tilray is closely tied to Privateer Holdings, one of whose largest investors is none other than Peter Thiel’s (founder of PayPal) Founder’s Fund.
Here’s some reading info, this company is doing things right, and has already hit the ground running with several provincial contracts in Canada in addition to other revenue sources.

https://www.investors.com/news/marij...blic-offering/

https://www.tilray.com

https://www.tilray.ca

Personally (and by no means should you listen to me, again, do your own research), I will watch it closely. Don’t think I will be opening a position right away, as 1) weed IPO’s have experienced short term initial decline post-IPO (Green Tec, TGOD, etc) and 2) we are balls-deep into summer doldrums and most days my long portfolio looks like Carrie on prom night. There may be a better entry few days post-IPO, there may not. I will be on the sidelines ready to jump in on any kind of post-IPO-euphoria dip, should there be one.
