Impractical, perhaps, but handsome…

A Planet Ocean, on a leather NATO strap. Impractical, if you want to take this fine dive watch to the ocean’s depths, but handsome, if you’re content to admire the ocean from the shore’s edge.

A comfortable arrangement, too. Omega calls its leather Novanappa. Whatever that is.

Anyway, the watch, with its modest (if thick) 39.5 mm case, is a new acquisition. The strap is even newer. And, I like the combination.

Hope you do, too.

Looks fantastic. I have the original Planet Ocean 2500 and I have contemplated trying it on a leather strap. Haven't done it yet. Maybe soon.

This is the watch on its bracelet…

A fine combination, too, but I’m really enjoying its look on the leather NATO.

Yes, I didn’t consider the Planet Ocean, until I learned there was a 39.5 version. I think the next size up is now 43mm. For me, that’s just a bit too much.

Also, since it’s a modest case size, for a contemporary dive watch, the fact that it sits a bit higher on the leather NATO, because part of the strap runs under the case, doesn’t make it too prominent on my wrist. It is a thick case, but still not to the point of being ungainly, even resting on the NATO strap.

I noticed with the No Time to Die Seamaster that the slight elevation of the NATO strap made the watch appear more prominent than the Milanese bracelet, which keeps the watch comfortably snug to the wrist, a slightly lower profile look.

Watches and motor cars…just seem made for each other.

Looks great! I like the leather NATO strap. The color matches the seamaster writing too. If you want to dive with it… you can always swap the strap for the bracelet too.

Thank you. Yes, indeed. In fact, I’ve asked the Omega boutique to order a black or silver NATO in nylon, as another sea worthy option.

I agree…the orange Seamaster lettering does compliment the dark brown leather strap. A little thing, but nice.

The leather is very supple and, of course, is lighter than the steel bracelet. Wears easily.

It seems to me that it looks better with the strap. Good one for a day by the beach.

Or throw it on a NATO (nylon). Which would be an easy swap from the leather NATO.

Very nice. Reminds me of my PO2500 when I used to wear it on the OEM croc strap and deployment clasp.
